“NPR PISTON RING SET” Fitting Instruction
I. Install piston rings in the following order:
1,Thoroughly clean ring grooves of piston.
2,Fit the oil control -followed by compression rings in ascending order,into the ring grooves using a ring tool.
3, Take care to fit the rings with marked faces upward and toward top of the piston.
II.Confirmation that rings are fitted correctly:
1,Make sure rings can be moved freely - without jamming-in the piston grooves.
2,Make sure each ring gap is not positioned in line with piston pin axis or thrust
III.Installation of piston fitted with rings:
Always use an installation tool when inserting into cylinder.
Special instruction for fitting NPR NIFFLEX oil ring
1, Fit the expander of NIFFLEX oil ring into the ring groove by hand and ensure the ends butting together as shown in the illustration.
2,Hold with your thumb the expander at its butt ends. Fit the upper rail on to the expander with its gap approx.45° to the left,and the lower rail approx.45° to the right to the ends of expander.
